FCMS, the Four Cubes Management System, is the version of the ERP that the plant still runs every day. It tracks each extruded bundle from the press to dispatch and prints the QR label that goes on it.

Stack

SvelteKit on the front, a Bun and Express server with Prisma, and PostgreSQL. It runs on a Proxmox box at the plant.

Backups

A self-hosted GitHub Actions runner inside the FCMS Docker setup dumps the database every night. The dump is encrypted with age before it is uploaded offsite, so nothing readable leaves the building.

What it taught me

Old data is the best spec you'll get. I decoded the plant's legacy cast-number scheme (the letter is the month, the number is the sequence) and traced most of the "phantom" stock, bundles the system still listed but the yard no longer had, back to production run tails. Both findings went straight into how ORRN models a production run.
